A Matter of Fabrics
Polartec® fleece is primarily made of post-consumer recycled polyester from recycled plastic water bottles. They’re known for their durability, toughness and long lifespan. Your fleece should feel and perform the same after a good few years of use.
It’s worth investing in a Guppy Friend Washing Bag, which will also help your fleece last longer. Find out more on our Recycled Polyester page.

Why We Use It
Out there amongst the tall trees and trail markers, escaping from the humdrum if only for a few minutes. Time and time again. These fleeces are built to last years of wandering, with Polartec tweaking and testing their fabrics to guarantee performance.
Polartec was the first to bring a recycled fleece to market in the early 90s, a planet-first approach that’s still apparent in how they run things today. We see them as a core staple to seamlessly slip into your hike, run, bike, or vanlife wardrobe.

Where You'll Find It
Polartec pushes the standards of high-quality, durable fabrics, allowing us to spread the material over full zips, half zips, hooded, buttoned and cropped fleece fits.
Our Polartec fleece (and accessories) are taken from their Microfleece, Thermal Pro®, Power Stretch® and Shed Less technical fleece material, and you can read more about each unique material in this Layers of Escapism journal.
